This semester I will be doing research on hotels. I have never design a hotel before and I am interested in residential interior design. Since condominiums and apartments are not accepted in this project, hotels are the most similar to those types of buildings. Another reason I chose a hotel as the building typology is because I would like to design and own one in the future. Therefore, the hotel will have a futuristic theme. There are mostly low rise buildings surrounding the site and their style have not changed much since the 1800's. A futuristic hotel will stand out greatly. My goal is to respect the surrounding buildings and their style so I would have to be careful with the building height. I will also need to find a way to attract the locals who are not use to modern changes. As of now, the hotel will have a pool, restaurant, lounge, entertainment room, meeting and event rooms, gym, garden, spa, lobby, and suites.
